Steven Spielberg can't ride his horses

Steven Spielberg says his new movie War Horse has brought back his own failings in the saddle.

The Jaws moviemaker has told how he owns a number of horses but has to sit by and watch others ride them due to an old riding injury.

“I did ride a little bit in the mid-’80s and I got my back hurt and so I don’t ride anymore,” says Steven, 65.

“My wife rides, my 15-year-old daughter is a competitive jumper, she goes all around the country competing on horses.

“So we live with horses we have 12 horses on our property and so I was immediately a good candidate to directWar Horse because I’ve been interacting with horses for a long time now even though I can’t ride.”
