Angelina Jolie 'Motherhood helped with directorial debut'

Angelina Jolie says being a mom of six prepared her for her latest role as a director.

The Tomb Raider beauty says dealing with her hectic household every day meant being in charge of a movie set didn’t seem quite as daunting.

“It is similar,” says Angelina comparing life with partner Brad Pitt and their family with film.

“There’s constantly people asking you for something, so the multi-tasking of motherhood transfers very well to being a director.

“I think you’re compassionate. I get nervous too. I see people get dressed up for a premiere and I think, ‘Oh, did she get the right earrings?’ Or I think, ‘Did he get anything to eat, before he went to the interview?’ You still feel this strange, nurturing, mothering quality for everybody.”
