Christie Brinkley's tax trouble

Christie Brinkley owes the IRS $500,000 in back taxes and has vowed to repay it.

The former model who was hit with the lien in November said in a statement she ought to have kept her eye on “accounting.”

“I discovered the tax lien was the result of an error. My taxes will be paid in full by Dec. 7 . . . I regret not paying more attention to my accounting, but I have been, and remain focused on my whole family as both my parents navigate serious health issues,” she said.

Brinkley who has three children from her four marriages recently insisted she will never marry again.

“I can now say unequivocally I would never get married again. There’s absolutely no reason to,” she said.

“I learned in my divorce that marriage is ridiculous. You take a vow but you don’t get brownie points when you honor your vow and the other person doesn’t.

“The court doesn’t recognize that. It’s like, ‘All right now, let’s see how we’re going to divvy up the kids.’ Well, obviously, the one that didn’t break the vows should be the role model, but no.’ ”
