Etta James is "terminally ill", according to her live-in doctor.
Dr. Elaine James, who is no relation to the 'At Last' singer, is now asking fans for their prayers, reports CBS News.
She has been caring for the 73-year-old singer since March 2010. Etta is under 24-hour medical care at her home in California.
In 2010, Etta was diagnosed with leukemia and suffers from dementia, but two weeks ago Dr. James revealed that her cancer was declared incurable.
In May, Etta was rushed to the hospital after developing a dangerous infection.
Etta is best known for her hit songs such as 'At Last', 'Stormy Weather' and 'A Sunday Kind of Love'.
