Sandra Bullock says filming 9/11 drama Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close reminded her of her real experiences of the 2001 terror attacks on New York.
The Speed actress admits she couldn’t help but think back to that fateful day and the death and destruction she witnessed first hand.
“I was there and I saw it,” says Sandra.
“I saw the second plane. I saw the people. I saw people helping people, and that to me is what resonates about the city of New York. I have so many memories and emotions of it. Some of them still don’t register.
“In a good way, I hope that it doesn’t ever leave me, that vibrancy of what happened, because it made me aware of so many things that I wasn’t aware of before.”
Bullock recently revealed she’s planning to spoil her son Louis for Christmas.
“It’s gonna be a little ridiculous,” she said.
“I want the photo ops to be really great because he’s not going to remember it, but he’ll remember it by the photos and when he’s 16 and says, ‘I hate you you’re a horrible mother,’ I’ll go, ‘Do you see this Christmas? Do you see that I got you that life-size lion? Shut up! Get in your room and do your homework. I was a good mother then.’
“And that’s what I’m going to use. That’s my ammunition.”
